WELCOME - We are excited to welcome everyone back to our in-person services! This week, August 8 we celebrate communion; Pastor Reg is preaching on Jesus' finished work on our behalf from John 19:28-30. On August 15, Nolan Hanson will be speaking.
Live streaming of our service will continue at 10 a.m. on Sundays. We encourage people to connect with us in this way, if you are unable to attend the in-person service. We recognize that the video quality is not what we want and ask for your patience as we purchase some new equipment and get it working. CHILDREN’S MINISTRY - Ages 0-3: Space is available for parents to take their children to a place to play. This is an unsupervised space just off the foyer - follow the signs to the Blessing Place. Activity packages are available in the foyer for older children.
FREEDOM SESSION -As part of our discipleship path here at CFBC, we are excited to start Freedom Session on September 20. This program will lead us in overcoming challenges that can hold us back from living the abundant life in Christ that God desires for us. As space is limited, and to facilitate planning, please sign up by using the fillable PDF at Freedom Session.
MID-WEEK CONNECT - will be Thursday, August 19 at Mac & Judi Blackwell’s at 7188 Guelph Place. Hot dogs, snacks and games are available. A fire ring and roasting sticks are provided. We will meet from 6 - 8 p.m. Come out and meet with people. We will also have a very short business meeting where members will be asked to vote on painting the exterior of the church. Members should have received an email with details and how to vote if you are unable to attend. The corrected email where questions should be sent is email@example.com.
YOUR GIFTS – have been so generous that we did not qualify for the government wage subsidy this month. God is at work in our church and community. Thank you for partnering with the ministries of Central Fellowship both locally and globally through your financial gifts. Donate at Give.
COOKMAN MEMORIAL - friends of Art, Pat and Mark Cookman are invited to attend the family memorial BBQ on August 21 at 5:30 pm at the Cookman homestead at 8541 Bunce Road. We are hoping that some people will have memories to share and we will have a few tables with memorabilia up for display. Please note that Blake and Corina have asked for help with the event and for (paid) help with the renovations of the Cookman house.
LYTTON FIRE UPDATE: Donations to Fellowship Pacific for this cause came over $25,000 so far! Pastors serving the Indigenous communities here are uniquely equipped and positioned to identify and respond to the needs of these families who have been displaced. One way is through family festivals where they distribute food and gift cards, while also providing some fun for families and kids in the middle of a very difficult time. The needs are ongoing and the funds raised by Fellowship Pacific will be going towards the continued support of these communities as they recover. Donations can be made at Lytton Wildfire.
FEMALE ROOMMATE WANTED: a room to rent available - main floor of a house, living space shared with two other female roommates. Available August 1. Contact the church office.
