THIS SUNDAY - We are continuing our series in the book of 1 John. We will be looking at what it means to be obedient to the LORD and how it is related to knowing him. You can come join us in person at 10:00 am or online at: Church Online.

POTLUCK REMINDER - THIS Sunday, August 3rd, we will be having another potluck; this month's theme will be ’Foods native to B.C.’ in honour of B.C. day this month. Please bring a dish to contribute with your church family, please let the office know what you intend on bringing and if you can list allergy info on your dish (includes nuts, food dyes, dairy, etc.)

FINANCIAL UPDATE - The general fund YTD income from September 01 to June 30 is $140,369 while our YTD budget is $159,590. Thus we have a budget shortfall of $19,221 as of June 30, 2025.  We have kept our general expenses below budget at $146,474, but the expenses still exceed our income by $6,105. Thus, we are currently running a deficit and although we do have sufficient funds in the bank to finance this on a short term basis, it is not something that can be sustained long term. Please prayerfully consider your giving and we thank you for your generosity.

ROKEBY MISSION UPDATE - We have been spending a lot of time indoors these days with temperatures reaching into the high 30s! July was an exciting month as we partnered with Mizonokuchi Chapel to run an outreach event for the kids in their community. Invites were distributed in the neighbourhood, at local community centres, and to friends. We were encouraged to see six boys (including Mrs. U's son) from the area come out to hear about Jonah. One of our colleagues led worship, Andrew told the story, and everyone participated in a fishing game and crafts. Click Here To Read More

CARING MINISTRY UPDATE - “Yes, it’s only August but it’s time to turn our attention towards ‘Back  to School’ for hundreds of students. Nusdeh Yoh Elementary and Van Bien Elementary are two schools that we have previously supported - will you consider joining the Caring Team Ministry in this Benevolent Initiative for the month of August?  Your options are to purchase school supplies and bring them to the church kitchen marked “School Supplies Initiative”, or you can donate funds to the ‘CFBC Benevolence Fund’ any time during the month of August. Any donated funds will be used to purchase school supplies which will then be delivered - in equal amounts - to the two schools noted above. Thank you for ministering to, and making a difference in the lives of students in our community” - Becky Gairns

SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL - This summer, our sunday school program will be for kids aged 18 months to 6 years and held in the upstairs preschool room. Parents MUST sign in and sign out their children, but we will have activity packs for kids ages 7-12 years old that they can retrieve from an usher after the young ones are dismissed.

SMALL GROUPS - As we get into summer we would like to encourage you to consider joining a small group this fall. We are always in need of leaders and hosts and we believe firmly that the most effective way to build community and to grow spiritually is through connecting in a small group. Please speak to a LT member!

LOST ITEMS - Two bibles have been found, please check with the office if you have lost yours. Additionally, there was a pair of glasses found on the left side of the stage if anyone was missing them.

CFBC NEWSLETTER - If you know of someone who is new to the church, ask them if they signed up for our newsletter? Which can help them stay up to date with the church events and updates. Let them know they can sign up by talking to Chelsea Martin or by emailing office@centralfellowship.ca

MEMBERSHIP  - If you are interested in membership or have questions as to what membership is all about, please speak with someone from the Leadership Team. To put it briefly, membership fulfils our obligation as a non-profit, but more importantly it speaks to our commitment to one another and allows each member to hold one another accountable to biblical principles.

GIVING - For God so loved the world that He gave…Giving is an act of love. We give because God first loved us and he freely offers us salvation.  Your donation helps us spread the message of God’s love. You can also give via eTransfers or online at Give Online.
