THE LEADERSHIP TEAM wanted to share a quote from the book they’ve been reading entitled: Canoeing The Mountains. “Conceptually stuck systems cannot be unstuck simply by trying harder.” As you hear this quote and think about the future of CFBC, what sort of things come to mind? Please share your thoughts with the Leadership Team as they would love to discuss it.
SMALL GROUPS - we had a Small Group leaders meeting in November that was encouraging. This year we have 7 groups with roughly 55 people involved! The Leadership Team is committed to building a library of resources and study materials for the church to access, so keep an eye open for this! If you are not involved in a small group already and would like to be, our groups are always open.
ROKEBYS mission update Many of you prayed for our planned visit to Otawara. The congregation and church planters there greeted us warmly and we got to practice our Japanese while learning about life and ministry in rural Japan. Outside of large cities like Tokyo or Osaka, Japan can be a different place with an aging population and more traditional ways of thinking and living. Many have told us that the soil is even rockier and more resistant to the gospel. Please continue to pray for us as we consider this partnership. Read the full newsletter.
EADIES mission update To have an aircraft ready to go in this part of the world takes many, many people and a ton of effort. But it is hard to measure against the impact in a situation like this. I'm thankful for the good crew here, ready to move when needed and sacrifice part of a normal day off. I think it is a gift to have the opportunity to love and value someone in real need, and medivacs are often just that. See photos and read more here.
GIVING - One of the ways we get to worship God is through giving. We worship when we give our hearts back to God through singing his praises, when we surrender our will to God’s ultimate design for our lives through prayer, and when we offer our tithes to Him for His glory through giving. You may donate via cash, cheque, credit or debit card at the church; donate online; or you can e-Transfer to donations@centralfellowship.ca. If sending an eTransfer, please follow up with an email with your name and address, so we can send you a receipt at year end.
