Weekly Newsletter from The Leadership Team

Dear Church Family,

We have had our first Sunday of partaking in the online service of Northstar Church in Quesnel. For those of you who were able to sign in last Sunday, we would love to hear your feed back. We encourage everyone who can to sign in this Sunday and take part with us.  Here is the link:  Northstar Church

We are also adding a Zoom session immediately after the service from 11-12:00 where we can come together as a church family to share stories of how God is working in our midst and to pray for each other.  Charles is organizing this for us, and the information is as follows:  "Zoom is VERY easy software to use.  Anyone interested in joining may go to https://www.zoom.us to download the free version of the software.  When you do so, simply click on the link in the invitation that will be sent.  If you do not have Microsoft Office, you can simply enter the meeting ID 719 551 335 (or just click on the link:  CFBC Zoom Meeting) and you are in.  Call Charles at 250-960-0246 if you have any questions."

Information out of our online Board Meeting last night:

Easter Sunday Service - Afton is working with Dave MacPhee from Northstar Church.  Here is a message from Pastor Dave:

“Hello Everyone!  For our Easter Sunday Online Service at Northstar we are looking to put together 2 videos montages of testimonies.  We think it will be a great way to both testify to God’s work in our lives & also be a way where we can show our solidarity - that we are one!  Please video tape yourself on your phone answering each of these questions in 1-3 sentences:

a.     Why did you become a follower of Jesus? And what difference has placing your trust in Jesus made in your life?

b.     Why do you believe in Jesus’ resurrection from the dead?”

When you’re done, please upload the video here:  Northstar Video Submissions . Videos need to be submitted by next Wednesday April 8th.  After you complete your video, send the idea to 2-3 (or more) people!  Let’s fill up the montage!  It’s going to be exciting to see how God will be using this as we stand together.  Please contact Afton if you have any questions or comments at [email protected] or 250-961-9488.

Regular Communication with individuals in our congregation - Daniel and Andrew and finishing off the details around how we will endeavor to be in regular contact with individual members of our church family during this time. It is our desire that no one feel isolated or out of the loop but rather that all feel cared for and included in whatever way that can be during this time of social distancing and isolation. We encourage all in our church family to reach out to each other as they are able to.  Please let Daniel know if you are willing to be put on a list to regularly contact a few individuals that do not belong to established home groups.  Any ideas or feed back are welcome. Please contact Daniel at [email protected] or 1-306-514-0115 or Andrew at [email protected] or 778-281-3563

Finances – We thank those of you who were able to send your tithes and offerings in this week! We understand that systems and procedures have to change during this time. Our financial obligations will continue to remain pretty much unchanged as they are mostly fixed costs that cannot be scaled back. If you are able to still give, your payments can be accepted by e-transfer to [email protected], a cheque dropped through the main slot at the church office door, or by contacting Patti at the office to set up a pre-authorized debit.

Regular communication from the Leadership Team – Thank you for the positive feedback on our weekly newsletter, this is something that we will continue to use to keep you informed about what we are working on during this time. If you have anyquestions or comments please feel free to contact me (Janice) at [email protected] or 250-967-4468.

Gift Basket for the Daykins - This Saturday, April 4, is the last day to get any gifts or cards to Graeme and Karynn Mueller if you wanted to contribute to a gift basket for the Daykins.  If you feel comfortable, please drop your gifts off at their place, 1567 Buchanan Ave, or email them at [email protected] to schedule a pick-up. The gift basket will be delivered on Sunday.

Sincerely,

Your CFBC Leadership Team
