Ester Wiens

Dear Church Family,

We hope this finds you doing reasonably well during this incredibly difficult time.

Congratulations to Jed & Hannah Zimmerman on the birth of their son!

We had our first online Leadership Team meeting this week. It will take us a bit of time to get used to this format but here is an update about things that we are working on. It was determined that the areas of priority right now are providing an online Sunday Service of some kind, regular communication with individuals in our congregation, finances, and regular communication to the church body as a whole from the Leadership Team.

1.     Sunday Services – Afton is working with the Pastor Dave MacPhee from Northstar Church in Quesnel which is one of our Fellowship churches, to have a type of virtual Sunday service at CFBC. Their team is working to get us the YouTube link for Sunday and we will post it as soon as we get it.   Please contact Afton if you have any questions or comments at [email protected] or 250-961-9488.

2.     Regular Communication with individuals in our congregation - During this difficult time when connecting on a regular basis with the body is hard, we as a leadership team encourage you to stay in contact with your brothers and sisters. Pray for them and check in with them regularly through phone, text or other ways of connecting while keeping your distance. Andrew and Dan will be looking into how to create closer community during this time. Any ideas or feed back are welcome. Please contact Daniel at [email protected] or 1-306-514-0115 or Andrew at [email protected] or 778-281-3563.

3.     Finances – Our finances will continue to remain a concern for us as a church, as it is for many individuals as we move through this time. We will continue to monitor the situation and steward our resources to the best of our ability. Although we are not meeting together in one place most of our expenses remain unchanged. If you are able to still give your payments can be accepted by e-transfer to [email protected], a cheque dropped through the main slot at the church office door, or by contacting Patti at the office to set up a pre-authorized debit.

4.     Regular communication from the Leadership Team – we will continue to keep you informed about what we are working on during this time by way of a weekly newsletter. I encourage you as you connect with us and each other that you would make us aware of how you see God working in this time, as well as any praise or prayer requests that you have. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me (Janice) at [email protected] or 250-967-4468.

As we communicated last week Graeme & Karynn Mueller are organizing the collection of items to put in a gift basket to be given to the Daykins’. The deadline for collection of items to be included is April 3. If you feel comfortable, please drop your gifts off at their place, 1567 Buchanan Ave, or email them at [email protected] to schedule a pick-up.
