THIS SUNDAY -  We will be returning to our series on our values as a church body. Why do we gather every Sunday? To worship? To fellowship? Is there more to it? Can you be a follower of Jesus without gathering regularly? Come find out as you join us in person at 10:00am or at Church Online

POTLUCK - This Sunday we will be having our monthly potluck once again, so come join us for a meal together as we practice fellowship with one another. Please bring your favourite thanksgiving inspired dishes!

MEMORIAL SERVICE for Dean Olsen will be held on Saturday, October 4th at 1:30 pm here at CFBC. Please come and support the family through this difficult time.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - Our annual AGM will be held on October 19 immediately following the service. This is a time when we reflect on the previous ministry year, vote on the upcoming budget, and celebrate what Christ will be doing in the coming year. Watch your email this week for the AGM package. Contact the office if you need a printed version. Please read it and pray over the agenda and budget in preparation for attending the meeting. All are welcome to attend. Members can vote on the motions presented. We will be having a potluck after the sunday service, please bring a dish to share.

LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP - We will be hosting a leadership workshop put on by Fellowship Pacific on October 25 at the church. We would like to encourage all our ministry coordinators to attend, as well as anyone else interested in serving here at CFBC. Please mark your calendar!

MISSIONS UPDATE - Rokebys September report says that October is looking like an important month for the next few years of our ministry. It is exciting for us to think about moving forward to the next phase of our ministry here. This month has been filled with a return to routines and some new beginnings. Anna returned to kindergarten and John is back homeschooling full-time. Andrew started at a new language school and is thinking about how he can immerse himself more in Japanese to improve his speaking and comprehension skills. Tanja has also started meeting with Andrew's conversation tutor to train more for conversations with the "rose lady" (Mrs. T) and moms at Anna's kindergarten. Please read our Mid-Year Update to get the "big picture" of how we are working towards the goals we set earlier this year.

NESS LAKE BIBLE CAMP is looking for a full time office manager and an interim food services manager. There is more information here. Their Women's Weekend is October 17-19. Be sure to connect with your gal pals and plan to attend! Theme is "Living Unafraid". This year Unplugged will happen again! Come earlier in the day Friday for an extra session! Register online.

CHRISTMAS SHOEBOXES - We realize it’s early in the year but we’re looking to get a headstart on Christmas shoeboxes. If you’re interested please pick one up in the foyer!

GIVING -  We give because we are committed to God’s ongoing work here on earth. We give out of love and joy. In this act of worship we express that we stand in awe of God and we thirst for Him as the deer thirsts for the waterbrook. Giving may be done via eTransfer or online.
