THIS SUNDAY - We are beginning our new sermon series focusing on our values as a church. The first one we’ll be looking at is “Dependance on God”. What does this look like for you individually? How about for us as a church body? What happens when we have our needs taken care of? You can come find out as you join us in person at 10:00am or at Church Online.
SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL - is for children aged 18 months to 6 years and held in the upstairs preschool room. Parents MUST sign in and sign out their children, but we will have activity packs for kids ages 7-12 years old that they can retrieve from an usher after the young ones are dismissed.
FALL KICKOFF - This Sunday, September 7, we will be having our Fall Kick-Off Sunday. After the service we have a potluck lunch with a theme ‘BBQ Food’. Bring your favourite dish to share with your church family!
FINANCIAL UPDATE - The general fund YTD income from September 01 to July 31 is $150,636 while our YTD budget is $175,549. Thus we have a budget shortfall of $24,913 as of July 31, 2025. We have kept our general expenses below budget at $160,487, but the expenses still exceed our income by $9,851. Thus, we are currently running a deficit and although we do have sufficient funds in the bank from the last fiscal year to finance this on a short term basis, it is not something that can be sustained long term. Please prayerfully consider your giving and we thank you for your generosity.
BENEVOLENT FUND - With many thanks from ‘Hope for Women P.G.’ and the CFBC Caring Team Ministry, the 2025 Baby Bottle Campaign was abundantly blessed by Central Fellowship Baptist Church. Your caring hearts and generosity combined to allow us to make a donation of $865.84!! Many women and their newborns will receive the support they deserve during stressful and challenging circumstances.
PLAN TO PROTECT VOLUNTEERS - Calling all our Volunteers for Sunday school, Blessing Place and Youth group! It’s that time of year. You need to do a refresher course for Plan to Protect. Karen Walkey will run another one on Wednesday, September 10 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. The in-person refresher is a lot easier than the online version, so please come and get updated. This will enable us to schedule everyone for the fall term. Contact Karen Walkey if you have questions.
ROKEBY MISSON UPDATE One of the biggest surprises to us and our colleagues has been the warm reception we have received in our neighborhood. Sometimes, people living in Tokyo can have a reputation for keeping to themselves; but, our block has welcomed us with open arms. Read more here.
SMALL GROUPS - We would like to encourage you to join a small group this fall. We are always in need of leaders and hosts and we believe firmly that the most effective way to build community and to grow spiritually is through connecting in a small group. Please speak to a LT member!
CELEBRATE LIFE GALA - will be happening on Thursday, October 2 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm with a pre-dinner reception at 6:00 pm at the Prince George Civic Centre. The keynote speaker will be Matt Hammitt, a songwriter, musician and speaker.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - Our annual AGM will be held on October 19 immediately following the service. Please watch out for more information in the coming weeks.
LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP - We will be hosting a leadership workshop put on by Fellowship Pacific on October 25 here at CFBC. We would like to encourage all our ministry coordinators to attend, as well as anyone else interested in serving here at CFBC. Please mark your calendar!
CFBC NEWSLETTER - If you know of someone who is new to the church, encourage them to sign up for our newsletter. It can help them stay up to date with the church events and updates. Sign up by emailing the office.
MEMBERSHIP - If you are interested in or have questions about membership, please speak with someone from the Leadership Team. Briefly, membership fulfils our obligation as a non-profit, but more importantly it speaks to our commitment to one another and allows each member to hold one another accountable to biblical principles.
GIVING - For God so loved the world that He gave…Giving is an act of love. We give because God first loved us and he freely offers us salvation. Your donation helps us spread the message of God’s love. You can give via eTransfers or online at Give Online.
